The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella is one of several wines produced by Remo Farina from the Valpolicella region of Italy.
The wine is a Corvina blend, being 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, and 10% Molinara and other wines. The “other wines” part scares me a bit.
Amarone della Valpolicella is aged for 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels, and then an additional year in the bottle.
This was my third tasting of this wine. Maybe it’s the vintage (yes, it’s young), maybe it’s the wine (yes, it’s Corvina), maybe it’s just me (easy there), but I am still not feeling the love for it.
