Basil T’s is a local restaurant that often hosts small wine tastings. The management at Basil’s is well versed in the Italian wine universe, both by regions and by price. They do a good job with these mini-tastings.
The tastings take place over a two hour period. Typically, four or five different wines are served. They also offer Italian cheese and salami alongside the wines! (I haven’t decided if the cheese makes the wine taste better or the wine makes the cheese taste better. I will have to do more testing in this area.) Wine tasting participants are provided a glass and move from one bottle to another sampling each wine. The room can get crowded at times. While it is not the optimal environment for wine tasting, you do get to try a selection of wines you normally wouldn’t get to try in a short period of time. All wines are available for purchase.
